Do these types of toning shoes have much of a long term prospect? They have been distracted by a lot of damaging press along with litigation recently that has to have had an effect on revenue. So we interviewed Craig Payne a specialist in podiatric medicine, exercise shoes, sports injury and obesity for his own thoughts about the long term for these particular categories of shoes. He considers that they absolutely do have a future but probably not as good as they would have liked. The science is clear that they do not give the actual tone up as the shoes were marketed to offer, but he believes that they have some probable uses which need to be given consideration. There are numerous testimonials of them assisting lower back pain, making this one probable use. There is also potential use for them to take care of a condition called hallux rigidus, that is a inflexible great toe or hallux joint. A lot of scientific studies are needed to explore this further.
